- Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) – post-synthetic modifications, applications in catalysis (esp. enantioselective)
- Dynamic combinatorial chemistry inside MOFs
- Supramolecular chemistry of anions – molecular receptors, sensors and transporters for anions
- Rotaxanes and catenanes – anion templated synthesis, applications in anion sensing
- Photoswitchable receptors and catalysts
- Self-organisation of bioactive multivalent structures
- Conducting polymers – synthesis of new monomers
- Self-assembled monolayers – synthesis and applications for the construction of anion sensors
